Always Learning

There are a few things you can always be sure of when you start to train Jiu Jitsu. One of them is that there is always something to learn. No matter how long you have trained and taught classes, there will always be some detail to improve upon. The sport is always evolving as well. New guards show up on YouTube or people release DVD’s showing their new techniques. Some say that nothing is new, everything is just tweaked or renamed, that the core of the technique was done by people years ago. Some beg to differ and say they created a new move.

Bruno has watched the sport change and evolve. He likes to teach basic Jiu Jitsu and the core fundamentals to his students and build up from there. He believes the fancy stuff should come once you have mastered escapes and basic submissions and positions. The fact is, you must keep up with the new stuff people are doing in competitions if you want to be successful, especially if you are responsible for teaching and leading an academy. Recently he caught up with his friend and former student Vincent to collaborate and learn some new berimbolo tricks.

Bruno has been a black belt since 2006 and you will never see him shy away from learning something new. Everyone has something to offer. Vincent is amazing and has trained with some of the best in Jiu Jitsu. He has a complete game and is giving to the community by sharing what he has to offer with his own students.
