Little Mamutes
A huge part of what makes BJJ so great is that it doesn’t just strengthen the body, it strengthens the mind as well. Many parents worry that Jiu Jitsu won’t be the right fit for their child because he or she has a lot of energy.
But this couldn’t be further from the truth!
At Mamute Jiu Jitsu, we want our students to be energetic and excited when they come to class – our goal is simply to focus that energy. After a long day sitting at a desk, kids need a place to let loose. Our BJJ curriculum aims to take all that pent-up energy and direct it into throws, grapples, and a wide variety of fun activities.

Improves Self-Confidence
We get it, being a kid isn’t always easy! Between homework, trying to make friends, and school bullies, there’s a lot to deal with. At Mamute Jiu Jitsu, we want to be a place of escape from all of those struggles. While the rest of the world may take a toll on your child’s confidence, we’re here to build it up. After watching hundreds of young martial artists go through our program, we have no doubt that practicing BJJ improves students’ confidence in a way that no other activity can. BJJ pushes students out of their comfort zones – helping them acquire new skills, teaching them how to defend themselves and avoid conflict, and providing them with much-needed support and guidance. Students enter our Little Mamutes program as shy and insecure children and leave as outgoing and self-assured martial artists.
Teaches Hard Work
Don’t get us wrong, BJJ is a ton of fun…but it’s also hard work! We want our students to learn from a young age what it means to keep trying even when you get tired or can’t get the hang of a technique right away. There’s nothing more rewarding than setting a goal for yourself and finally accomplishing it! Whether it’s earning your orange belt, breaking a board, or learning a cool new technique, our team is here to get you there.
Provides Purpose
Having a purpose in life isn’t just important for adults – it matters for kids too! Children may beg to sit in front of the TV all day, but this just won’t make them happy. Having a source of motivation is the recipe for success in kids’ lives. An activity like BJJ gets kids active, improves their mood, and helps them feel accomplished. Not to mention, Jiu Jitsu improves students’ performance in all aspects of their lives. The values they learn in our school will push them to do better in school, practice better behavior at home, treat others with greater respect, and set goals for themselves.
Improves Health and Fitness
Jiu Jitsu doesn’t just teach your child essential self-defense skills, it helps them in all aspects of their life. Having the ability to protect yourself will create a unique type of confidence in your child that carries over into their ability to speak out in class, make new friends, and stand up for themselves and others against bullies. Not to mention, Jiu Jitsu is great for your child’s health. This martial arts discipline is known for providing students with a full-body workout that boosts flexibility, improves coordination, and creates positive lifestyle habits.
